MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small regulatory RNA that mediate RNA interference by binding to various mRNA target regions.
Since G9a plays a role in directing de novo DNA methylation to various G9a target regions in ES cells [ 23], a similar role of G9a in directing rebound methylation in somatic cells is possible.
Using the same in-house developed simulation software and the ART toolkit [ 24] (version: VanillaIceCream 03-11-2014) we simulated paired-end sequences (2×105 bp, mean insert size: 180, standard deviation of insert size: 10) of the exonic target regions at various read depths (coverage at exonic sites: 4,8,12,16,20,30,40,60,100 and 200).
