But by the 1970s it gave way to a cluster of doctrines loosely labeled "post-structuralist," each variety identified with its own master-thinker: the philosopher Jacques Derrida, the intellectual historian Michel Foucault, the psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, and the Marxologist Louis Althusser.
These populations corresponded to 18 different varieties: 17 identified during the initial survey of Chentoufi et al. [ 48] and one additional variety identified during our collecting trip.
