There were 17 major bands in the DGGE profiles (Fig. 5a) with obvious variations in the intensities (Fig. 5b), H-index, numbers of bands and microbial abundances among lanes (Table 4).
The spectra of hydrothermally treated SSB samples produced through the steam-assisted and MW-assisted treatments have shown variations in the intensities of absorption at 900 and 1428 cm 1 confirming the variation in the concentration and nature of cellulose [39].
While similar protein distributions were obtained, variations in the intensities of some protein spots between the adult and foetal maps were observed; the proteins in 21 of these were subsequently identified.
Different Myogel preparations and the mixture of various batches showed relatively similar protein band patterns, and only slight variations in the intensities of differently sized bands were visible (Additional file 1: Figures S1A and S1B).
The relationship between Al3+ concentration and variations in the intensities of the different resonances (and thus Al3+ site occupancies), as observed by Düvel et al., can be interpreted crystal chemically.
