To investigate the various temporal variations of the middle atmospheric O3 in the northern mid-latitude region, particularly in the Asian area, a ground-based MWR was installed at Rikubetsu (43.46°N, 143.77°E, 361 m above sea level), Japan, in March 1999.

Long term variations of the middle atmospheric thermal structure in the upper stratosphere and lower mesosphere (20 90 km) have been studied over Ahmedabad (23.1°N, 72.3°E, 55 m amsl), India using SABER (Sounding of the Atmosphere using Broadband Emission Radiometry) onboard TIMED (Thermosphere, Ionosphere, Mesosphere, Energetics and Dynamics) observations during year 2002 to year 2014.
When looking at scatterplots (data not shown) there is a very uniform pattern, with no diverging groups at the extreme ends, but with larger possibility of variation in the middle.
We used Praat software [46] to analyze the amount of pitch variation in the middle (steady state) portion of each test tone (from 250 to 750 ms).
