Chau et al. (2002) raised an important point with respect to the need for knowledge about some important variables (density gradients, electric fields, etc).
Five area-based structure variables (density, crowding, richness, skewness and size variation) are used in this study and related to production (average increase of plot basal area).
Fluxes of conserved variables – mass and momentum – are limited in a synchronous way to preserve local bounds of primitive variables – density and velocity.
