The major drawback encountered during the analysis is the low value of the utilization factors of both wind turbine and photovoltaic array, which are 10.2% and 15.9%, respectively.
In this sense, for every value of the utilization factor of primary channels shown in Figs. 9, 10, 11, the corresponding value of the secondary traffic load shown in Fig. 7 is considered.
For every value of the utilization factor of primary channels considered in Figs. 9, 10, 11, the performance of each resource management strategy is evaluated under its optimal operating configuration (that is, the configuration that maximizes Erlang capacity).
Also, for a given value of the utilization factor of the primary channels, as the relative service time increases, the departure rate of successfully terminated calls decreases relative to the arrival rate of primary sessions; thus, the average number of idle channels decreases in detrimental of the new call blocking probability and, consequently, in detrimental of system capacity.
For large values of K, the utilization for q = 0.05 is greater than that for q = 0.1 (see Fig. 7a for K ≥ 3).
Where as T1 and T2 indicate the minimum and maximum threshold values of the channel utilization represented by u and the value α will decide about the change in the value of β as channel utilization u passes the threshold value T1.
As in Fig. 3, two values of the substrate utilization rate constant kS are applied (Fig. 1), so that the effects of high (with kS = 1 d−1) and low (with kS = 5 d−1) substrate fractions can be seen (Fig. 3D).
Furthermore, the analysis shows that there is an optimum value for the utilization factor of the SOFC for the suggested plant design with the suggested input parameters.
