We lose our opportunity and our need to understand how we as a society are managing our systems of values, of laws, of what winds up being seen as acceptable or unacceptable behavior.
What is the value of law?
The hunt for Turtak has raised questions about the value of law enforcement cooperation between European nations.
Justice Dumbutshena's courageous ruling showed that the value of law was well understood by enlightened black Zimbabweans even then, as it must be today.

Everything else — a sane health-care policy, the dignity of the transgender people who have volunteered to serve their country, a rational environmental policy, a foreign policy that serves basic democratic values, rule of law — is of tertiary interest.
