The effect of NaSS loading and unsaturation level of HNBR on the membrane properties were studied.
This knowledge allowed the development of a polymerization strategy that led to high incorporation of NaSS (up to 83.5%).
Among nass chewers, the ORs (95% CIs) for placement of nass under the tongue vs in gingival rim were 3.00 (1.21–7.41) in unadjusted and 0.65 (0.14–3.09) in adjusted models.
Lower reactivity of NaSS as compared to the MMA causes less NaSS units to incorporate in the chain at the early stage of the polymerization.
So, this theory further confirms particle size reduction in relatively low amount of NaSS and NaAmps.
The findings for the chewing of nass are in keeping with the results of the earlier case control study which showed no elevation of risk for nass consumption (Cook-Mozaffari et al, 1979).
Tendency of the polymers for dissolution at relatively high amount of NaSS is attributed to the high electrical charges induced by NaSS units statically incorporated in the polymer chain as it was for the formation of soluble polyelectrolyte.
Intensity, duration, and cumulative amount of nass use were also associated with an increased risk of ESCC.
Accordingly, Fig. 4 shows two different lines fitted over the results, which crosses each other in 1.52 mol% of NaSS.
We did not find any association between placement location of nass in the mouth and ESCC risk in adjusted models.
