Further research including the analysis of health system costs and the likely impact on patient access to treatment is needed to prospectively validate the gains predicted by this model.
In order to validate the 17q25.3 gain detected by array CGH, FISH assays were carried out on all TNBC using a 17q25.3-specific BAC probe (BAC RP11-1055B8) together with a chromosome 17 centromeric control probe (cen 17 probe).
Attempting to validate the CN gain on chromosome 16p11.2 produced low confidence values across the samples (average confidence values is 80%, standard deviation = 24%), and only 12 of the expected 36 (33%) samples demonstrated a CN > 2 (confidence values ranging from <50 – 89%).
Simulation results validate the throughput gains of the proposed relaying schemes.
