Jakub Krzych, founder of Estimote, has announced a $3.1 million seed round raise from Innovation Endeavors, Betaworks, Bessemer Venture Partners, Birchmere Ventures, Valiant Capital Partners and others.
CNBC Valiant Leads Investment Round in Brazilian Pharmacy Benefits Firm | Valiant Capital Management, a San Francisco-based hedge fund, and Aberdare Ventures have jointly acquired a 45 percent stake in a pharmacy benefits company, ePharma, for an estimated 169 million reais ($74.6 million).
Fidelity led a group of venture capital investors in the deal, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Firstmark Capital, Valiant Capital Management and Andreessen Horowitz.
A decade later, a consortium led by Dinesh Shamdasani and Jason Kothari, 90s-era Valiant fans turned 21st-century entrepreneurs, pried the IP away from a competing venture in a lengthy legal proceeding.
Firms like Coatue Capital (Snapchat, Box), Valiant Capital (Pinterest, Evernote) and Tiger Global (One Kings Lane, Nextdoor) are not new to venture investing but appear to be ramping their pace and investing in some of the most sought after private companies globally.
According to Instacart's company statement, other investors in the Series D round of funding included: Wellcome Trust, Y Combinator Continuity, Andreessen Horowitz, FundersClub, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), Initialized Capital, Thrive Capital and Valiant Capital.
