Using the best hits found by BLAST, an inferred putative function was assigned to the sequences.
In total, we obtained 159 protein complexes in sweet orange by using the best hits from sequence alignments with the yeast complexes (Additional file 1).
Assembled contigs were annotated by using the best hits of BLASTX search against the non-redundant UniProt database with an E-value cutoff of 1E-6 for the annotation of these protein coding contigs that were conserved with other species.
