However, four sets of simulations (×500) for the stomach with (β0,σ0,τ0) = (0, 0, arbitrary) using very different choices of control parameters and total cases expected, yielded fairly similar LRT* and fitted gamma distributions as shown in Table 3. Optimised control parameters for the observed data are shown in the last row.
Figure 3 and Table 2 quantify the fragility of this conclusion, by generating estimates using the same framework under trivial alternative scenarios in which different numbers of subjects (or mixtures) were used, or different choices of statistical threshold were used for assessing discriminability.
To illustrate the classification of different classes of prostate cancer, we show the confusion matrices obtained by using SSGLDM for different choices of S. Tables 2a,b depict the results using GLCM (S = 1 band) where Tables 2c,d give the corresponding results using SSGLDM for (S = 16 bands).
We first conducted a sensitivity analysis to evaluate the stability of cross-validation predictive ability using BayesCπ under different choices of s g 2 as 4.95 × 10 − 5, 4.95 × 10 − 7 and 4.95 × 10 − 10 for carcass temperature and 2.01 × 10 − 6, 2.01 × 10 − 8 and 2.01 × 10 − 11 for loin muscle pH trait.
Despite the use of different choices of priors on the parameters, and although a higher anaplerotic flux was estimated (see Additional file 3), our present estimates for fluxes in the control and dobutamine groups did not differ much from the previous estimates of Binsl et al. [ 8].
