Species-specificity of the primer set was evaluated by using a total of 112 strains (including 27 reference strains of the DSM collection), representing 26 different species of the genus Staphylococcus, 3 species of the genus Kocuria, and different strains of Macrococcus caseolyticus.
The specificity of the LAMP assay was determined using a total of 42 strains of the order Rickettsiales (Table 1).
Slides were then incubated overnight at 4°C with a biotinylated F4/80 antibody, a macrophage-specific antibody (1 : 50; Caltag Laboratories, CA, USA) and a polyclonal rabbit anti- T. cruzi serum (1 : 1000; serum was previously obtained in our laboratory using a total extract from the Querétaro strain).
We used a total of 126 S. aureus strains (table S1), which were composed of 105 coa-sequenced strains described above and 21 strains whose SC types were determined by the M-PCRs [7].
The energy dissipated by intergranular fracture is then calculated using a critical strain criterion, and the total dissipated energy is then estimated using an averaging by the respective area fractions of the two modes, which are themselves dependent on the respective energies of the two main fracture mechanisms.
Influenza-specific total IgG was determined using a strain-specific antigen capture ELISA as previously described except that the plates were coated with the detergent disrupted A/Solomon Islands 3/2006 H1N1 strain at a dilution calculated to detect the higher optical density (OD) with the higher dilution of serum.
Thus, tests are performed in both ambient air and vacuum, at 20 and 300 °C under total axial strain control using a triangular waveform at strain amplitudes of ±0.3 or ±0.6% and at strain rates of 4×10−3, 1×10−4 or 1×10−5 s−1.
We tested the hypotheses that cumulative effect of temperature (K) and developmental zero (t) are constant properties of a mosquito strain using a test of total heterogeneity, QT, with Hedge's estimator, a standardized difference method for comparing effect measures [ 57, 110].
