Using a genetic projection model, the expected population genetic structures arising from predicted connectivity patterns are simulated and compared quantitatively with the empirical data from microsatellite analyses.
The modelling has been carried out independently of this study, using the Global Forest Products Model (GFPM), which is a projection model based on a price endogenous linear programming system (for further details, see: Tomberlin et al, 1999).
