In the first type of tumours, a sensitive technique will detect low level of K-Ras mutations with finally a number of K-Ras mutated tumour cells which could have clinical usefulness; in the second type of tumours, sensitive technique will detect K-Ras-mutated subclones of which clinical usefulness has still to be explored.
