These markers are candidates for further investigation and are expected to be useful for marker assisted selection in future broodstock selection for various aquaculture programs.
This study is also an useful tool to identify candidates genes involved in the control of resistance to M. pinodes in pea useful for marker assisted selection.
Further research is required to fine map Dw2 and to develop markers that are more closely linked to this locus and hence more useful for marker assisted selection.
