The questionnaire was designed from previous studies done for assessing adherence; it included important variables for the study and was organized by sections for sociodemographics, social support, perception of ART, adherence, and use of complementary treatment.
That survey found that while roughly half of adults age 50 and older use some form of complementary treatment (acupuncture, physical therapy, massage, meditation, etc)., less than half reported ever talking with their primary health provider about it.
