The word "upthrust" is usable in written English and is well written.
It can be used to describe a forceful upward movement or projection, often in a geological or physical context. Example: "The earthquake caused an upthrust of the tectonic plates, resulting in the formation of new hills." Alternatives include "uplift" or "elevation."
