Wu Wenzao made it clear that historical literature was used mainly "in a go-upstream method, i.e. an approach that looks back upon the past", and "the history we want to know should still play a role institutionally" (Wu, 1942), i.e. history that still impacts the reality.
Accordingly, the name of the scheme is coined as the advection upstream splitting method (AUSM).
The advection upstream splitting method (AUSM) was recently developed by Liou and Steffen for accurate predictions of viscous flows.
A geometrically conservative one-dimensional (1D) arbitrary Lagrangian– Eulerian (ALE) version of the advective upstream splitting method (AUSM) shock capturing scheme is presented.
