It all starts by uploading the dataset to DataRobot platform, which accepts input from a file, a remote URL, a JDBC data source or HDFS.
This experiment investigates the effect of using the separate FTP servers on the Internet because communication time can be considerably influenced by network delay: the masters need to upload the datasets to the FTP server and the slaves need to download the data chunks from the FTP server.
Users can upload the datasets of DNA or protein sequences in FASTA format and submit to the LinkinPath's job queue (Supplementary Fig. S1), which could support the analyses of genome-scale inputs.

To take one example, uploading the African human genome dataset (130 GB) takes around 37 hours with upload rate of one MB/s, while processing this dataset (as we will show in the experiment) using Bowtie [ 17] takes about 32 hours.
The box will upload the compressed dataset to Bina's cloud service for storage, sharing, and further analysis.
