Alpert stressed that React Fiber will be backward compatible, though as with all major React updates, there will be a few small breaking changes.
It'll be interesting to see if EE throttles 4GEE users, being as higher speeds are the USP of the 4G network (I've asked EE whether it will speed-throttle 4GEE users and will update with any reply. Update: EE has confirmed there will be no speed throttling on the 4GEE network).

It apparently will only exist as a part of a status update and there will be no more big blue "Check In" button that inserts your check-in into a stream of other check-ins (and again, no more Places area itself).
Last week's new Facebook Groups were the first of those updates, but there will be more.
