Analysis of abundances of C and N was conducted using a stable isotope ratio mass spectrometer (Finnigan Delta+XL) coupled online with a carbon hydrogen nitrogen combustion unit (CE 1110) using a ConFlo III open split interface (Werner et al. 1999).
