To better understand the unforeseen behaviour of the EFbis locus we investigated DNA sequence polymorphisms at a ~1 Kb portion of the EF1α gene that includes the third intron (i.e. the region analysed with length polymorphism) but also the second intron and three exons (a large portion of the second, the third, and a small portion of the fourth).
