Their electrocatalytic activity was compared with that of state-of-the-art anodes for phenol electro-oxidation: antimony-doped tin oxide (SnO2 Sb5+) and ruthenium oxide (RuO2): first, under standard ambient conditions, and then, under the conditions of a Polymeric Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer (i.e. 85 °C and 30 bar) and of mild Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation (CWAO, i.e. 150 °C and 30 bar).
The mechanical properties of gel sheets were measured at a stretching speed of 1 mm/min with a desktop universal testing machine (EZ test; Shimadzu, Kyoto, Japan), of which maximum load cell capacity was 500 N under standard ambient conditions at 25 ± 3 °C and 50 ± 25% RH.
All the animals were housed under standard ambient environment of temperature (25 ± 2°C) and relative humidity of 50 ± 5%.
The rats were housed in plexiglass cages (3 per cage) in a 12/12 light/dark cycle, under standard laboratory conditions (ambient temperature 20°C ± 2°C and humidity 72% ± 4%) with free access to water and standard pelleted rat food 53 3, produced according ISO 9001 2008.
After arrival, all animals were housed in groups for 5 7 days (Animal Facilities, Gorlaeus Laboratories, Leiden, The Netherlands), under standard environmental conditions (ambient temperature 21°C; humidity 60%; 12/12 h light/dark cycle, background noise, and daily handling), with ad libitum access to food (laboratory chow, Hope Farms, Woerden, The Netherlands) and acidified water.
Consequently, initial power conversion efficiencies of 3.2% are maintained at 90% after 15 h under standard illumination conditions in ambient atmosphere.
The animals were maintained under standard laboratory conditions at ambient temperature of 25 °C ± 15%, with darkness cycle of 12 h.
At the age of 4 weeks, the pups were taken away from their mothers and housed in groups of five animals per cage (57×36×20 cm) and kept under standard laboratory conditions (22±2°C ambient temperature, 60% relative humidity, and natural light), provided with a standard rodent feed, PK-120-1, LaboratorsnaboRussia Russiand and given water ad libitum.
During LD, after the initial TMS measurements under standard room lighting conditions (530 lux), ambient luminance was reduced to a level just sufficient for the investigator to perform TMS; subjects wore opaque goggles and reported complete absence of perceived light.
The animals were acclimated under standard laboratory conditions of 22 ± 2°C ambient temperature, relative humidity of 60 ± 5% under a daily 12 h light: dark cycle.
The specifications under standard test conditions (STC) (1000 W/m2 irradiation, 25 °C ambient temperature and AM1.5 air density) of the PV modules samples of each technology are given in Table 1.
