In a statement Thursday, Blackstone said 95 percent of the nursing homes run by Southern Cross in 2006 operated under leases arranged before Blackstone's investment.
The county-owned park loses more than $3 million a year, partly because many rides operate under leases or revenue-sharing arrangements.
Most teams in the New York area, except the Giants and the Islanders, are operating under leases that date from the 1970's and 1980's and are to expire no later than 2008.
In a statement it added: "Of the 578 care homes operated by Southern Cross at the time of its stock market flotation in 2006, approximately 95% were operated under leases entered into prior to Blackstone funds' investments".
Indeed, Mayor James and several Bergen County officials admitted that Ms. Whitman erred in putting together a proposal that did not spell out what would happen to the Continental Airlines Arena, where the two teams now play under leases that extend to 2004.
Options include Manhattan, Brooklyn, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Austin, and Portland, and the six pop-up stores will operate under leases that last at least a year.
