Call it a sculpture, a drawing, a perceptual intervention; in a world cluttered with unavoidable things, it is a bracing act of material and spiritual economy.
But can words, the soiling, unworthy but unavoidable things, also be used to build a makeshift bridge to a life-changing connection, a release into a sunlit future?
From a European perspective, two easy — and probably unavoidable — things need to change: First, contrary to popular claim, many of the social benefits being awarded by the U.S. tax code and budget actually accrue not to those in dire straits, but rather to people comfortably situated in the American middle class.

My main preoccupation is distinguishing between things you can prepare for, things that are unavoidable, and things that are unexpected.
While we're being bombarded daily with bad news about unavoidable everyday things that are decreasing our life expectancy (sleep deprivation anyone?), the good news is there are plenty of little steps you can take to add some of that lost time back.
