China will establish a ten year, $1 billion China-UN Peace and Development Fund aimed at supporting the United Nation's work as well as advance multilateral cooperation, Chinese president Xi Jinping told the United Nations General Assembly on Monday.
UN development efforts have consisted of two primary activities.
Expanding the national water infrastructure development fund.
Resident representatives of the UNDP in recipient countries assess local needs and priorities and administer UN development programs.

Both are at the head of key meetings later this year, the G7 in Germany and the AU in South Africa, which will start to set the priorities in development funding before a main UN summit in September that will fix in place new sustainable development goals for the generation.
