Several data-entry errors have been found in some databases either from typesetting errors in the original source or from rekeying the documents.
British chess historian Edward G. Winter notes that the articles in the Pariser Zeitung misspelled the names of several famous chess masters, which could be interpreted as evidence of forgery or as attempts by Alekhine to signal that he was being forced to write things that he did not believe; but these could simply have been typesetting errors, as Alekhine's handwriting was not easy to read.
Beyond deficiencies of software, such numerical errors may later originate in the transcription of results from computer outputs to reports and manuscripts, wrong rounding of results, or uncorrected typesetting errors.
It was brought to our attention that this article (Blečić and Cecchini 2017) contained the following typographical and typesetting errors that have been corrected in the original article and are being communicated via this erratum.
