Those who were able to perform all five activities without human help but who required help with at least one of the two additional instrumental activities of daily living of shopping including carrying heavy bags and heavy housework were classified as having mild disability.
The twelve activities were: dressing without help, outdoor walks, climbing stairs, sitting for a longer time, standing bent over a sink, carrying a bag, making a bed, running, do light work, do heavy work, lifting heavy objects, participating in exercise/sport.
