The phrase "trivial assumption" is a correct and usable part of a sentence in written English.
It is often used to describe an assumption or belief that is considered unimportant or insignificant. Example: The argument presented by the author is based on several trivial assumptions that can easily be disproved with further evidence.
But this is not a trivial assumption, for two reasons.
Given the (apparently trivial) assumption that "b is existent" is equivalent with "b exists", this is a contradiction.
