THE Rwandan genocide of 1994 killed 800,000 people, most of them ethnic Tutsi, in the space of three months and triggered two successive civil wars in neighbouring Congo.
The move has triggered three successive applications for judicial review, which have called into question the fairness of extradition laws – in particular the UK-US extradition treaty, which critics have condemned as one-sided in favour of the Americans.
By comparing the ventilator and Edi timings, PVA was identified, including wasted efforts (clear effort observed on Edi with no ventilator assist), auto-triggered breath (ventilator assist delivered in the absence of Edi increase), double triggering (two rapidly successive assists following a single effort), and inspiratory trigger and cycling-off errors.
PVA includes the inspiratory and expiratory timing errors (delays between patient demand and ventilator response), efforts undetected by the ventilator, assist delivered in the absence of patient demand, and double triggering (two rapidly successive assists following a single effort).
"The culprit here is the short-sighted, politically charged, irresponsible economic policy of the government, forcing up inflation, drying up investment, and triggering capital flight with each successive bad idea".
Remarkably, it was recently shown that cytotoxicity-deficient lymphocytes form longer contacts with their cognate target, thus resulting in many successive rounds of Ca 2+ flux into cytotoxic cells and triggering of pro-inflammatory cytokine secretions.
These data support the mechanism of neutrophil apoptosis triggering based on sulfatides' ability to accumulate in intracellular compartments and mediate successive increase in ceramide content resulting from β-galactosidase activity.
Recovery in these situations is quite challenging and requires careful planning because moving a critical node indiscriminately may trigger a series of successive cascaded relocations that may prevail across the network.
These successive treatments triggered the development of white fungal stains caused by Fusarium solani, the growth of resistant Pseudomonas fluorescens strains and finally, the growth of melanized fungal species, such as Ochroconis lascauxensis, O. anomala and Exophiala castellanii (Saiz-Jimenez et al. 2012).
This larger number of double triggering in NAVA is related to the fact that sometimes there are EAdi signals with a biphasic appearance, and this causes two successive cycles (Fig. 3).
