According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) [ 33], poor indoor air quality (such as that due to use of tobacco indoors) is a disease trigger for pneumonia, bronchitis, and asthma, especially for the first two years of life.
Clinical failure occurred in 10 patients (39%) whose ARF was triggered by pneumonia (Group A) and in 11 patients (46%) whose ARF was triggered by acute exacerbation of fibrosis (Group B), p = 0.775.
