In the oestrous cycle following the saline treated cycle, another mare developed a spontaneously prolonged luteal phase.
Among the control mares, 25%% (1/4) developed a spontaneously prolonged luteal phase in the saline treated cycle (this mare showed prolonged luteal activity twice during the study; see results).
