The aim of the study was to validate the Norwegian version of a self-administered 43-item questionnaire designed to assess quality of life in kidney transplant recipients, the End-Stage Renal Disease SyModuleChecklist – Transplantation Module (ESRD-SCL).
Some disease-specific tools for evaluation of HRQoL in relationship to renal transplantation have been developed, including the Kidney Transplant Questionnaire [ 6], and the ESRD symptom checklist – transplantation module (ESRD-SCL) questionnaire [ 7].
Disease-specific tools in HRQL evaluation after renal transplantation include the Kidney Transplant Questionnaire (KTQ) [ 17], the Kidney Disease-Quality of Life (KDQOL) [ 18] and the End Stage Renal Disease Symptom Checklist Transplantation Module (ESRDSC-TM) [ 19].

Global rating of the delegates for the Heart and Transplant In vivo Module (Skill 6) before teaching was 0.75 (min = 0, max = 1, and SD = 0.50, scale 0 4) versus mean global rating of 1.75 (min = 1, max = 2, and SD = 0.5, scale 0 4).
Recognizing the significant barriers that disadvantaged dialysis patients face in pursuing transplant, the ETH modules were redesigned to be delivered by mail to patients' homes, with content delivered more gradually, over an 8 month period, and in smaller educational increments using supplementary texts, postcards and, in one condition, telephone support from an educator (Table 1).
