After painstakingly piecing together the genome of the extinct strain, a team led by virologist Jeffery Taubenberger, then at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C., concluded in 2005 that the virus most closely resembled viruses of avian origin; the team suggested it had become transmissible between humans after a couple of key changes (Science, 7 October 2005, p. 28).
The T-ALL is transmissible to secondary recipients after bone marrow transplantation (Fig. 2B).
We found no indication that infections with ≥ three mutations at enrolment were more transmissible (on day 14 after treatment) than infections presenting at day 0 with fewer mutations.
Most directly, ambient temperature increases are associated with a faster rate of viral replication within the vector and with a shorter extrinsic incubation period (EIP; the time required for DENV to become transmissible to another host after initial infection of a mosquito).

Prions are known to cause transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE) after accumulation in the central nervous system.
Without tOPV intensification, although the Rn values remain below 1 at OPV2 cessation, they increase after OPV2 cessation, allowing transmission of increasingly more transmissible OPV-related viruses.
These data suggest that STEC O157 is common and transmissible among livestock displayed at agricultural fairs and persists in the environment after the fair.
Because P. vivax is more frequently associated with gametocytemia [ 3, 9, 11] and is more transmissible at low parasite densities [ 18], the most commonly transmitted parasite after treatment for falciparum malaria, paradoxically, was not P. falciparum, but P. vivax.
Neither is easily transmissible, though both have almost undoubtedly infected family members, nurses or hospital roommates after long exposure.
