The GarsC201R mutation arose during an ENU mutagenesis experiment at the MRC Mammalian Genetics Unit, MRC Harwell, UK [40] and were assessed in a full SHIRPA test [24], [41] and other tests for locomotion; we positionally cloned the mutation and identified a T to C transition at base pair 456 that results in a non-conservative cysteine to arginine substitution at residue 201, as described [25].
Direct sequencing revealed the G → A transition at base pair position 282.
The identified SNP was a C-to-T transition at base pair position 109,459,746 (GenBank: NC_000078.6), preventing us from definitively assigning parental origin following bisulfite mutagenesis and sequencing of the top strand of DNA, since unmethylated cytosines would ultimately be replaced by thymines.

The lowest excited singlet transitions of the Janus AT base analogues are predicted to be of ππ* character and mainly dominated by the configuration HOMO LUMO.
Between 50 and 80% of documented Barrett's p53 mutations are mis-sense (GC → AT base transitions at CpG islands) and 10 50% are nonsense (Huang et al, 1993; Gleeson et al, 1998).
Note both the variability of the profiles and the very sharp transition at the base of the O atom ledge around 82 84 km, which is well described by a 1-D model (the dashed line in Figure 5).
The CAM-B3LYP functional predicts that all the lowest transitions are localized on the Janus AT bases, and show good agreement with the results of the M062X functional.
PAHs have been associated with transitions at G C base pairs (Harris 1991), and transitions and frameshifts may be induced by PAH DNA adducts (Greenblatt et al. 1994).
From all the above, H2A.Z appears to be an important player in the regulation of AR regulated genes which has manifold roles in the regulation of the structural chromatin transitions at the base of the native and deregulated condition of such genes.
Only one SNP was predicted in the amplified products of the marker HAU-SNP504, which was a transition at the 62nd base (C in DW → T in DT).
ENU acts by transferring its ethyl group onto the bases, transitions at A-T base pairs being the most commonly found mutations [4], [8].
