Assessment of qMTI parameters yielded significant group differences for the T2 time of the bound proton pool and the T1 time of the free proton pool, while the semi-quantitative magnetization transfer ratio (MTR) did not differ between the groups.
While the proportion of daily energy expenditure devoted to milk energy output between early and peak lactation averaged significantly less for primiparous females compared to multiparous females, there was a substantial overlap in the range between the groups and, overall, the efficiency of energy transfer to pups did not differ between primiparous and multiparous females (Table 4).

The relationship between colony area and the number of cells in the colony did not differ between transfers 10 and 100 (data not shown).
