In the case of education and training, the framework advocates that children and young people must be actively engaged, and that it is necessary to promote the inclusion of DRR in school curricula at all levels and to use other formal and informal channels to reach youth and children with information (UNISDR 2005).
Agreement of stakeholders with this limited training programme did however offer several advantages at the time, including the first formal recognition of the EP profession, assurance of training within the framework of the KNMG and training places financed with governmental training funds.
