Recently, I visited the Carriage Trade gallery, in New York's Chinatown, whose latest exhibition, "Cutting Through the Suburbs," looks back at art that emerged from the suburban sprawl of the early nineteen-seventies.
Color Photographs From the New Deal (through May 20) After resurfacing in the Library of Congress in the mid-'70s, the color photographs of the Farm Security Administration and the Office of War Information are on display at the Carriage Trade Gallery.

The village has also had to battle with the impression that the whole downtown had burned, not just one building that housed eight businesses: Uniquities; N. L. Shaw & Company; Radio Waves; Trade Winds Gallery; Pepper Grass and Tulip; Mixed Bag; Stonewear Clothing; and Dexter & Company.

"I'm totally convinced that the Asia-Pacific needs two top international art fairs, especially if these events follow different philosophies," he said, specifying that the Hong Kong fair "has a very clear focus on the trade" and galleries concentrate on showing the single pieces they most want to sell.
