Essentially what they're doing is just mapping your input on the large touchscreen into the normal touch driver; the difficulty is probably the precision and filtering, determining exactly where that finger is so you can provide touchscreen-level accuracy.
Normally when you, say, pick up an icon or tap on the screen, that touch information goes from the sensor to the touch driver to the CPU, which queries the layout, directs what happens in the next frame, and then sends that information to the display driver.
A new project I am also working on another program it is open source, and will come out for MacOSX before the multi-touch driver.
Other goodies include a one-touch driver's-side electric window (down only), electric windows all around, electric mirrors and the same grooved bed behind the backseats with slots for movable tie-down screws (move the screws to whatever position you want for anchoring an odd-sized object in place, lock the screws with a twist, then attach a bungee cord or cargo net).
"I thought it was a modern touch, allowing drivers to see the traffic ahead coming around the corner.
Those who say that the government ought to have been in closer touch with drivers' opinions are being wise after the event.
"Uber is arguing that it is a technology company and that it does not provide a transport service to customers, it just puts them in touch with drivers," she said.
Comuto's platform essentially facilitates carpooling and carsharing by putting passengers in touch with drivers – who are free to put a price on the rides they offer.
Started by Frederic Mazella 10 years ago (after he was too late to get a train ticket home for Christmas), it's an online service putting people who want to go somewhere in touch with drivers going their way - so that they can share costs but not make a business out of it.
"He was really out of touch, saying drivers were working to make an extra 10 or 15 thousand dollars year so they could take their family to Disneyland or something," he recalled.
