Bright field illumination permits the visualisation of the total number of sperm, whereas epifluorescence illumination permits the visualisation of the fluorescent sperm only.
These factors include image resolution, image analysis strategies, visualisation of the total tissue, topographical variations of the tissue properties, surface fibril ambiguity, deformation of the articular cartilage, and cartilage lesion.
As the data were large (a total of 2.5 TB data were visualised), the visualisation was carried out noninteractively using the UK EPCC service as well as the University of Exeter HPC service.
