In the present samples, maternal and cord serum PFOS concentrations were higher (p < 0.01 for maternal serum, p = 0.01 for cord serum) when we detected N-methyl perfluorooctanesulfonamidoacetate (a PFOS precursor) in the same sample, but we found no significant association between total dust PFOS precursors and the branched PFOS content of serum (p = 0.47).
