As a lifelong insomniac who has extensively researched the topic, I find such stories alarming — but not because of the information they present.
I'm sure this definition will change many times as my career evolves but currently meaningful research to me is simply research that allows me to deeply learn about a topic I find interesting.
Again, this is a topic I find very pressing.

So when I chose my dissertation topic I found this subject compelling.
