But it's fun to watch the performers here — Erin Douglass, Eric Dyer, Mark Jaynes, Maggie Hoffman and Joseph Silovsky — having so much fun themselves.
Allow me to say that, to their credit, the performers here don't seem daunted by the ghosts of illustrious actors past.
But don't expect the performers here to provide scenery-matching sociological details (like a shared regional accent).

"You have syncopation in Cuban music, with everyone doing their own thing rhythmically, so the clave holds it all together and keeps everything on time," said Ed Castañeda, who runs the Web site HavanaNewYork.com, dedicated to promoting Cuban music and performers here.
Though the script provides a lot of tinder for actors, the performers here often seem to be merely playing with matches without getting around to striking them.
Somehow the performers here, too young to have been aware of the polemics the opera initially incited, brought unjaded involvement and affecting commitment to their work.
And aside from the always excellent Jan Maxwell, who plays a prostitute with whom Hans shares a Sunday kind of love, the performers here are hard pressed to make you care about the people they embody.
"I knew most people were performers here so I offered to film our cervixes with a portable webcam," she said.
