Taking imagery from photographer Mark Borthwick as his source material (Borthwick is responsible for the dreamy cover art on the band's latest release, Take a Walk), as well as several other photographers, Snibbe mashed up one of his previous apps and built some custom software to fragment and distort the imagery.
Allele genotypes were determined with Fragment Profiler software (GE Healthcare, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom) and data were exported to an Excel datasheet (Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Washington) for markers analyzed in the MegaBACE 1000 DNA sequencer.
After electrophoresis on denaturing urea gel on an ALF (Automated Laser Fluorescent) sequencer (Amersham-Pharmacia Biotech, Uppsala, Sweden), amplified fragments were directly detected and quantified by the Alfwin Fragment Analyser software package.
PCR products were electrophoresed in an ABI PRISM 377 automated sequencer and analyzed with fragment analysis software (Life Technologies).
The AFLP fragments data were exported to an Excel® file using fragment analysis software for further analysis of genetic linkage parameters.

The DGGE banding profiles for each sample were scored with the aid of Quantity One® fragment analysis software (Bio-Rad), where a single repeatedly run sample on each gel served as a reference marker.
We analyzed RNA quantity and quality using the fragment analyzer software PROSize.
