"He still has bit to do in his development and we believe this will be the best place for him and I believe he knows that as well.
Finally, while there is much to do in the development of probes themselves, dissecting detailed mechanistic questions would benefit immensely from an expanded toolbox for manipulating metal ion fluxes in cells, such as a repertoire of specific metal chelators and photoactive caged metal compounds.
"They were explaining what they were doing, what they intended to do in terms of development projects, and they wanted to know what the villages needed for the following month," Mr. Prazuck said about the meeting.
What's left to do in terms of development work at this stage?
Plus all the tools and other kinds of things you have to do in research and development.
These allow the system developer to detect bugs that may be very costly to do in subsequent phases of the system development.
"There's no question that there's an element of enlightened self-interest on the part of universities in these projects," said Terry Foegler, president of Campus Partners, a nonprofit real estate company set up by Ohio State University in Columbus to do neighborhood development in that city.
"But this makes it impossible to do a development in situations like ours," he said, "where you have decades of redlining and the only way to get a development done is to have help".
"There's a lot of places easier to do a development in than New York State," said Emily H. Fisher, a member of the board of the American Museum of Natural History who has owned a second home in the Catskills for decades and who is a principal of Mr. Gitter's development group.
The downside, he says, is that often "you are faced with enormous [costs] to try to do the development in a way that is as environmentally clean as possible".
