They have had to accommodate application developers while at the same time protect users interests and the general security of the site.
Due to the unique characteristics of embedded systems, a component architecture for embedded systems must have low overhead, be able to address relevant non-functional issues, and be flexible to accommodate application specific requirements.
What will remain is the tradeoff between easy / rapid scale on one hand and customization / control to accommodate application-specific environments on the other.
