Thus, we compared the reactivity in methanol solution (which is known to provide a large rate acceleration for many zinc complexes acting on phosphate esters).[ 17] Similarly to the aqueous reactions, we observe a bell-shaped dependence on the p Ka value, thus showing that the monodeprotonated species is the dominant active form for 2, 3, and 4′.
