For instance, EPAS1 (HIF-2α), EGLN1, and PPARA were detected in Tibetans [ 59, 60]; ADAM17 in the yak [ 61]; ADORA2A, CCL2, ENG, PIK3C2A, PKLR, ATP12A, and NOS3 in the Tibetan antelope [ 62]; SRF, TXNRD2, and WNT7B in the ground tit [ 63]; and EPAS1, SIRT7, PLXNA4, and MAFG in the Tibetan mastiff [ 64].
Great tit was up 55 per cent, followed by goldfinch (39); greenfinch (27); wren (25); dunnock (25); blackbird (24); robin (21); coal tit (19); song thrush (18); blue tit (14) and chaffinch (also 14).
The house sparrow remains the most commonly seen garden bird, with an average of 4.2 birds per garden and was seen in 61% of gardens, followed by the starling (2.9 birds, 39% of gardens) and blue tit (2.8, 79%).
Effect of the LNG flow rate, turbine inlet temperature (TIT), CO2 oxy-fuel cycle pressure ratio and SOFC operating parameters are investigated.
For each species we obtained samples for most months of the year, which varied somewhat for the different colour patches (not all plumage patches were measured for all birds), resulting in 236 samples for the robin, 192 194 for the blue tit, 299 300 for the great tit and 130 131 for the blackbird.
Therefore, we calculated receptor signals (i.e. achromatic ΔQ contrasts between two colored patches) for double cones using the formula above and the spectral sensitivities for double cones in blue tit [35] and peafowl [44].
Previous studies show that melanin-based colours showed either decreases in saturation (i.e. feathers of the brownish back in two species of tit (Parus montanus and P. palustris) became greyer [16]) or no seasonal change as in the black crown of the great tit [19].
Eighteen of the 21 C. psittaci-positive birds were adults, comprising 7 males (4 great tits, 2 dunnocks, and 1 blue tit), 6 females (4 great tits, 1 dunnock, and 1 collared dove), and 5 birds of undetermined sex (2 great tits, 2 dunnocks and 1 blue tit) (Table 3).
This value is similar to those reported for chicken (2.2/1), duck (2.3/1), and slightly higher than that for the great tit (1.7/1) [ 39, 40].
Therefore we carried out our computations using cone proportions of the blue tit (0.37 0.71 1 1; VS S M L) as representative for U-type eyes and of the peafowl (0.47 0.89 1.04:1) for V-type eyes (as in [ 74]).
