Further, the ISME tip could clog with salt crystals from electrolyte originating from the reference barrel even after multiple rinses and >24 hours of soaking (Fig. 2).
When the pipette tip was clogged up during dye ejection, brief pulses of higher pressure (10 20 psi) were applied to recover the flow of dye from the tip of the pipette.
If dried up ink is clogging the tip, this could get things flowing again.
